Teambuilding - Fri Feb 26 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2010
The new season is just starting and as every year the Audi Sport teambuilding week was taking place. It is for me a perfect to get some time with my teammates and especially when there are some new drivers coming into the team.
This year we had perfect conditions with snow and some nice time on the classic sking slopes. During the week it started to get warmer and finally some rain.
I feel ready for the season and will look forward to the time with my team and will do my very best to get some succesess.
Until racing get started I will continue to do some fitnes and prepare as always.

Training and fun - Tue Feb 16 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2010
During the last week I have been training in Davos to get my fitness in shape. I have done all the normal exercise and today I did something very funny. I went on a road that was made with Ice and rented there a pair of Icehockey boots. 3km on a ice road and perfect weather made my day something special.

Vasaloppet 2010 - Sat Feb 13 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2010
This year I will not be able to do the famous "Vasaloppet" the 7th March that starts in Sälen and finish in Mora. The 90km classic skiing race is a really nice edventure to do but this year I will do something else that day. The days before I am doing a test to get perfect prepared for the coming DTM season.
Until the first DTM race I will do some sport and maybe another race on snow. We will see.

Once in a while me and my grilfreind go to IKEA for some Sweish shopping. This time we drove there with my VW Multivan and bought some furnitures.
When we went to pick up some stuff that was not in stock in the shop we saw 2 guys trying to get a bed into a VW Golf.
They started to smile and I just had to take a photo. A VW Multivan would have been a better choice.

During last weekend I was a happy visitor of the Hahnenkamm Rennen in Kitzbuhel.
During the weekend I also had the pleasure to meet some nice people and do some nice events. One of them was the Red Bull snowcross event. I enjoyed a lot.

Today I planned to have a rest day. Until my lovely girlfreind woke up after a powernap the plan was changed. Then the idea came up to climed up the Rinarhorn mountain, with the 2 dogs Moss and Lou.
It took us 1h 32min and it was 600meter from were we started. On the way down we planned to go by "schlitten" but it was not possible to rent. Then we took the cabine and it took just 7 minutes.
Tomorrow is another day of training!

After having some problems with my health I am now back in shape for training. This is really nice and now during wintertime I like to do some classic skiing.
If I can do the Vasaloppet again I will do so but 100% sure it isn't .
I will keep training.

To be fit for the coming season I am as last year training on skis. I have classic, skating and alpine skiing in the garage.
For the moment I am getting better and better on my technics but the aim is to get the fitness better and better as well.
Keep checking the site for nice fotos and soon some films.

Now the new year have just started and I wish everybody the best for 2010. For the moment I am having some days of recovering and preparing myself for the coming year in the best way.
The site will be on low energi for some time but as soon as things start to be back to normal the updates will be coming more often again.

After some year with Tom Kristensen as teammate at team Abt- Sportsline we have now got a new "young boy" into the team with Oliver Jarvis. I have seen the progress Oliver have done over the last 2 years and I think he deserves a chance in the best car with the best team in DTM.
There is a test planned soon were I will go together will Oliver and I am sure we will have some fun together.
So Olly, Welcome in the team and I look forward to 2010 with you and your speed, passion for racing and some british humor...

I thought it wouldn't come to me but now I know how it can happen. It is amazing how sick I feel. Muscel pain, not hungry at all and all the time tired.
Time to rest and I have visited the doctor that told me that rest is the only way in combination with drinking and some pills againts pain.

Carrera Challenge Final - Fri Nov 27 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2009
Normally Essen motorshow is a exhibition were Audi and I have been taking part for many years. This year it was not the case but I was still here and taking part in a Carrera slotcar race. I had hard competetion from Bruno Spengler and Maro Engel. None of us made it to the final against the Carrera profis as they were simply quicker.
Now I will have some days rest and get ready for the winter season training.

Testing in Monteblanco - Wed Nov 25 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2009
No I have completed 2 days of tyretesting in Monteblanco/ Spain. The test was mainly to find out how the new DTM tires for 2010 will work. I did qualifying runs and long runs to give all info needed for the engineers to have a good idea for next year.
Next on the schedule is to go to Essen motorshow for Carrera and enjoy some slotcar racing.

ROC Resume 2009 - Sat Nov 7 23:00:00 UTC+0000 2009
Now back home at home in Switzerland, finally getting back to normal days again. I have had a fantastic time with my girlfreind and the other racers in China during 5 days.
To be able to win the Race of Champions against Michael Schumacher was a very nice end to a year with a bit of no luck and bad luck. No I have won this race 3 times and in my office I have the trophys that makes me a bit proud. :-)
Now the winter is slowly coming and it get's dark very early. I will try and get my training going again so that I will be ready for the Vasaloppet again.
Now my dogs want to have a walk in the village.

Today I felt like a perfect tourist with some freinds. We got in a little bus and drove for 2 hours from the Birds Nest until we got to the famous Chinese Wall. After walking around there in the snow and having some fun for 1 hour we went back to our hotel.
Now some minutes afterwards I relaise that that was simply amazing to se when the Chinese people was defending them selves against the Mongolians some hunder years ago.
Next tourist trip will most likely be the "forbidden town" and the "tempel of heaven". But first tomorrow some sport in the morning and then our practice sessions in the Birds Nest.

Today after a nice flight with Lufthansa we have arrived in Peking. Tomorrow we have a day off and will go on a tourist trip.

27 August it was the first ever Mattias Ekström Challange taking place at Järfälla gokart track. Many partners and freinds from the racinglife and some other guests was taking part to try and win the 2h 30min gokart race for teams with 4-5 members. The winner was finally TOKO Racing.
