After a hard weekend we manage P8 in qualifying. Before the race we change the setup and was able to go a bit quicker. In the end we were about 20 sec away from the winning BMW of Spengler. For the moment we don't have the race pace from our collegues but we are searching all day to find it. Next race is Brands Hatch and let's hope we find some pace until then. Regards Mattias

From pole position I had a good start and until a misstake in the begining of the race I lost to P3. After this the race was riding on my own and just keeping focus to do my best. Now we have a few days and on the weekend we go to Lausitzring for the second race of the year. We keep pushing!

No we have done all the testing allowed before the first race. I have been doing in total 13 days since the last race in Hockenheim in the new Audi A5 DTM car. Now when it is just 3 weeks until the first race is done I am interested to see if we have made the car quick enough? To find out it is just to wait for the first dry qualifying session. Hopefully this comes in Hockenheim as this track gives a very good comparision. Until the race start I will charge wmy batteries that when I go to Hockenheim the are 100% full and ready for action. The new DTM is slowly but gently taking shape. Our new Audi A5 DTM is improving all the time and soon it is time for the first test after the homologation have been done. That is the day when everybody will see the competitiors cars and we all know who we will race again. For me personally it is still a lot of fitness training and preparation to come to HOckenheim in perfect shape. Every detail from energy drinks to the a new helmet. This year DTM will be all about details and the team that have the best package I believe will win. Private I enjoy every second I am at home with our son Mats. He is growing and find out new things in the world every day. It is such a nice feeling to see a baby becoming bigger and bigger. All the best, Mattias

The new year has just started and I really look forward to the coming year. For me Mats is growing every day, the new DTM will be interesting and generally I try to focus mainly on having a great year together with Audi Sport and Abt-Sportsline. This in combination with a lot of focus on being healthy I am interested to see the result once we see christmas again. The complete familylife is really nice and health is a important factor. Heidi, Mats, Moss and Lou are today in good shape and I hope it stays like this for long. I will as always do my best and hope that it is good enough to achieve my goals. Your, Mattias

Now the DTM saeson 2011 is over. Last night was the official Final party and now I have my focus set on the Race of Champions in Dåusseldorf next week. I will take part in the individual event as I have to go to the DMSB gala and celebrate my vice championship. Now I will continue recover on my sofa and watch the final F1 race of the season from Interlagos.

Believe it or not? Even racedrivers have honbies. Tomorrow I will have my first tey on the track.

The last Dtm race of the year in Hockenheim is now over. I had a weekend with mixed emotions. In qualyfying I struggled and ended on P10. In the race the car was good again and I could make some places to end on P6. As I was infront of Bruno Spengler we ended on P2 in the drivers championship. The team championship we won as Rocky had a good race with P4 and was infront of Gary Paffet.

Another perfect weekend with a win. I felt great all weekend long and from pole position I manage to grad the lead and I kept it all the way. It feels great! Another person that is happy today is MArtin Tomczyk. After 11 years of trying he managed this year to win the DTM title. All in style with so far a top 5 as his worst position in the race. Now some PR work and soon again testing. But first of all I look forward to come home to my Heidi, little Mats and the my dogs. /Mattias

After 11 years I finally manage to win a race in Oschersleben. I had a lot of luck in the first corners and after this I had very good pace and could enjoy every lap.

It just looks great!

Now September is here and the weather is suposed to be perfect until Sunday. I will enjy the last days with my family and charge the batteries for the autm. Exciting weeks are coming.

Today I had a great race with a fantastic start from P5. When I saw the finishline as P2 it felt like a win and now we are P3 in the championship. Fantastic!!!!

On the Cravan exhibition in Düsseldorf I was visiting the Concorde stand and giving and interview and some autographs. On some free time I check out the news and I really like the new interia look with the different colours of the wood. The competitiors are also working hard but as I feel Concorde is the leader in the premium segment.

My first week of holiday is now over and it was really nice to recover after a lot of racing. Now the second week starts and I have time to do some sports. This photo is taken in Davos on the Parsenn mountain with my new Ghost Mtb bike. A fantastic day with perfect weather.

Finally after been trying many times I have now won my first 24H race with Audi. It was a greatfeeling after a long and hard race around the famous Spa Francorchamps track. We started the race from P7 and during the race we used slicks all the time even it was wet for some laps in the night. Today I feel in my body that I did a 24H race and slept only 2 hours in the night. Now some needed rest and try and find as much energy as possible to the DTM weekend coming up at the Nürburgring.
